About Varèse Vintage Records

Varèse Sarabande Records is a Los Angeles based record company that has been in business since 1978.   From the inception of our company, we have specialized in film scores and film soundtracks.

Since 1994, we’ve released titles in virtually every genre of music on the Varèse Vintage Records label under the direction of Cary E. Mansfield, Vice President, Catalog A&R and Licensing.

In addition to releasing high quality collections the label is also looking to the future by releasing exclusive digital releases, new albums by up and coming artists and new projects by classic artists.

Recent Varèse Vintage releases include new albums by The Keith Emerson Band, featuring Marc Bonilla, UB40 Labour of Love IV, Lisa Bouchelle, and The Derailers Live! From Texas, We also have issued best of collections by The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Gene Pitney, Glady’s Knight and The Pips, The Sir Douglas Quintet, Roy Clark, and David Frizzell & Shelly West among others.  In addition, we also work exclusively with Gene Autry Entertainment and the John Phillips Estate.

Varèse Vintage is a consumer-oriented label; we want to encourage all music fans to provide their input for consideration regarding our upcoming releases.

The label currently has over 200 titles in its catalog. Fontana Distribution LLC distributes the label.

Varèse Sarabande Records maintains a back catalog with over 500 titles.

I would like to see a catalog. I have already submitted a card to have one sent snail mail, but I have not received it. I am interested in the Kinks, and other vintage British Rock.

This is regarding the upcoming release of UB40’s Labour of Love IV, set to be out on September 21, 2010. It would be great to see this album being sold not only in record stores but also places like Whole Foods or Starbucks, to name a couple. Starbucks has UB40 on it’s reggae hour playlist. What better place to advertise and sell a cd??

  3. Hi,
Do you have an email address I can contact you on? Please reply to chad@tracks.co.uk. We are interested in the forthcoming Paul McCArtney family Way Release.
    Thanks
    Chad

  4. I purchases “Moscow” by the Keith Emerson Band (2 CD set, #3020670732), and there are 2 second gaps between tracks (the sound is supposed to be continuous between tracks, i.e., “gapless”). Will you be able to correct this error??

  5. Cary E. Mansfield says:

    Hi Robert,
Yes, we have already taken steps to correct this issue. We already have a new master in place.

  6. My name is Evan Taylor and one of teachers at the University of Colorado Denver is Gary Brown and he has put me in contact with you because I am looking for some research help. I am currently writing a paper about starting an independent record label in today’s music industry and delving into various issues regarding that subject. I would love to ask you some question, either via email, phone, or in person. Please let me know if you could help me at all with this project because I know you have valuable insight.

    Thanks,
    Evan Taylor
